Located quite a distance from the 23rd parallel, my island is right there, through the living room, just beyond the French doors, and situated about two-thirds of the way from the wall in my humble kitchen.
This is the place where my fan club, my girls and the occasional guest, get to see the real me.
So the garlic saga continues. You will recall that in my recent post ( Paesano Giorgio, Ma cosa hai fatto?) I expressed my opinion food imports trends. These days, I remain particularly sensitive and vigilant when it comes to mushrooms, garlic and other imported items. So when I saw garlic from Gilroy California, the garlic capital of the US, I just could not resist on snapping a few pics before I set out to cook our daily meal.
So my friends I present to you Gilroy garlic, imported from the good ol' US.of A .
These babies, albeit small , are packed with flavor, and crunch. So , if you do see then at your local markets, pick up a few packs.
